Tripop

Matteo Cibic's Luminous Pop Universe in a New Portable Lamp

A project of extraordinary craftsmanship, born from the synergy between Matteo Cibic’s visionary irony and MULTIFORME’s artisanal expertise. Tripop is a table lamp conceived to inhabit contemporary spaces with complete freedom.

Its aesthetic, openly inspired by Pop Art and the Space Age, is elevated by the refinement of its materials and manufacturing process: the main sphere is crafted from precious white blown glass, onto which colored circular glass appliqués are hot-applied by hand. The absence of wires, the rechargeable battery, and the dimmable lighting system make Tripop an exceptionally versatile presence, equally perfect as an ironic centerpiece or as a relaxing companion resting elegantly on its chrome-finished metal base.

With Tripop, light ceases to be merely functional and becomes interaction, play, and discovery.

Blown glass, primary colors, and a nod to the Sixties. A cordless bubble of light that invites playfulness and joy.

Unidentified luminous creatures have been spotted!

Don’t call it a lamp, it is an alien domestic organism that has landed on Earth to rescue us from boredom. Designer Matteo Cibic and the artisan-scientists of MULTIFORME intercepted them while they were bouncing through the cosmos to the rhythm of a 1960s space-lounge soundtrack. Tripop creatures are peaceful, rounded entities affected by a marvelous mutation: oversized colored glass polka dots, red, green, or blue, blooming across their pristine white skin.

Above all, they hate leashes, which is why they have no cables. These free and portable creatures are battery-powered and will follow you wherever you go, gently landing on their pocket-sized spaceships in polished chrome. One warning: if you touch them to dim the light, they begin to whisper. They say it is their way of purring.

Matteo Cibic (b. 1983, Parma Italy) is a groundbreaking transmedia creator who uses his craft to explore the world and imagine utopian futures.
Through his sculptural practice, he imbues everyday objects with a soul and personality, treating them as personas that bridge the gap between the animate and inanimate.

For over a decade, he has conducted “a sociological research about colors and objects,” investigating how they shape our daily lives.
Cibic’s work is rooted in pareidolia—the tendency to perceive faces or emotions in inanimate objects. Since 2022, he has extended this exploration to study plants’ emotions and knowledge, creating visual languages to map their interactions.
By blending innovative production methods with traditional craftsmanship from around the globe, he challenges material boundaries and reimagines how objects can interact with their surroundings.
At the core of Cibic’s work is his playful zoomorphic pottery, inspired by plant-like forms.

His creations provoke joy and wonder while raising profound questions about humanity’s role in a world increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence. Drawing on figures like Ernst Haeckel and Luigi Serafini, Cibic crafts speculative narratives where organic and artificial worlds meet in unexpected ways.

One of his most iconic projects, VasoNaso, exemplifies his unique fusion of humor, creativity, and rigorous experimentation with ceramics. For Cibic, even the slightest shift in form can suggest an entirely new species, sparking a playful yet meaningful exploration of evolution and diversity.

Through his work, Matteo Cibic invites us to embrace the fantastical and reimagine the familiar, offering glimpses of futures where objects, plants, and technology coexist in joyful, unpredictable harmony.
